Copper Range Stone

Basalt Gravel
Our premium basalt gravel is ideal for driveways, private roads, parking areas, and general landscaping applications. The angular shape locks together to create a firm, stable surface that resists rutting and washouts. While there is sand and clay in the gravel the vast majority of the product is basalt rock and not sand like seen in some mixes. Our rock is crushed perfectly to produce a unique angular fracture that simply leads to excellent compaction results, ideal drainage, and a more stable and longer lasting application than many other products.

Basalt Stone Products
Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula demand materials that can stand up to harsh weather, heavy traffic, and years of freeze-thaw cycles. That’s why we supply premium Copper Range Basalt—a dense, durable volcanic stone known for its exceptional strength, long life, and attractive darker appearance with gray, brown, black, and bronze colors appearing frequently on different stones Whether you’re building a driveway, protecting a shoreline, or creating a hardscape that lasts, Basalt delivers superior performance compared to conventional road gravel and other available materials.
Why Choose Basalt Instead of Standard Road Gravel?

Not all stone is created equal.
Basalt is an exceptionally dense and hard volcanic rock that is unique to certain areas and significantly harder than many common aggregate materials. While traditional road gravel often contains softer stone that breaks down over time and can be rounded, basalt maintains its shape and strength under repeated traffic and harsh weather conditions.
The Basalt Advantage
Longer Lasting
Basalt resists abrasion and crushing, helping driveways and roads maintain their structure longer.
Less Maintenance
Because the stone breaks down more slowly, you’ll spend less time grading and replacing material.
Superior Strength
Ideal for heavy trucks, trailers, construction equipment, and commercial applications.
Better Traction
The angular faces create excellent interlock for improved stability and driving performance.
Freeze-Thaw Performance
Basalt stands up exceptionally well to Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan’s freeze-thaw cycles.
Premium Appearance
Its distinctive darker gray along with black, bronze, and brown color gives driveways and landscapes a clean, high-end look that lasts.
